Toph Beifong

Toph is my favorite character.
The Beifongs were  one of the most powerful families in the Earth Kingdom. But none were as powerful an Earthbender as Toph Beifong. She was blind yet was the best Earthbender of her time. She went beyond anyone's expectations, and did the impossible: Toph developed Metalbending.

Residing in Gaoling, The Beifongs were rich and prosperous. Some of them were the greatest Earthbenders ever. But then there was born one daughter who would end that great legacy, or so it was thought.

Toph Beifong was born blind. Though trained by what was considered the greatest teacher ever, he had her doing beginner's forms. Little did they know she was the Earth Rumble Six champion Earthbender. Millions of tough, strong, and seeing men fought there, but this blind twelve year old girl beat them all. She could see by sensing the vibrations in the ground.

When her father found out he was furious, so Toph ran away to join Avatar Aang and to teach him Earthbending. Her father sent two ,in after her, and once did they capture her. They caged her in a Metal box, since that was an Earthbender's greatest weakness. But sensing the vibrations, she was able to "see" the Earth based impurities in the Metal. She used them to bend the Metal and thus escaped. When Aang built Republic City, she organized a Metalbending police force, of which she was chief. She had he daughter, Lin.
