When Princess Azula decided to take down her brother, uncle, the Avatar, and Ba Sing Se, she knew she needs an elite team of excellent warriors. Her childhood friends seemed to fit that description, so she sought them out. All three together were a deadly force. They could track Aang almost as well as Zuko could, and Ty Lee was nearly unstoppable. When Mai decided to save Zuko from a certain death, Azula was furious and was going to deal a deadly blow when Ty Lee chi-blocked her. They were thrown into prison until Zuko and Katara defeated Azula.
